About the Gaslamp Quarter

The Gaslamp Quarter is an area of downtown San Diego between 4th & 6th avenues bordered to the north by Broadway and to the south by L Street. Once the home of seedy bars, peep shows, massage parlors, and adult bookstores, the Gaslamp Quarter is now the vibrant pulse of San Diego dining, shopping and nightlife with over 200 restaurants, shop and nightclubs. The iconic Gaslamp Archway on 5th Avenue and L Street was first conceived in 1986 and eventually finished in 1989 as a symbolic declaration that the City of San Diego was committed to continuing the redevelopment of Downtown.

Had a great time! Hospitality was fun at each stop. Food and drink great at each! If I had to pick a favorite I would choose The Field…authenticity and great service. Memory is better for the early part of the day versus later on…..wonder why?????? Thats why they call it a crawl! PWD
