About Old Town Folsom
Folsom’s rich history began with the ’49ers during California’s great Gold Rush. Once known for being the site of the West’s first railroad and the world’s first long-distance transmission of electricity, today Folsom is known for its lake, prison and historic Old Town district.
The Folsom Historic District has more than 80 businesses, including restaurants, art galleries, live theater, museums, antique stores and specialty shops. The district hosts many community events including Antique Fairs, Second Saturday Art Walks, Folsom Pro Rodeo Cattle Drive, Folsom Live, Graffiti Night, Peddlers Fair, Night of 1,000 Pumpkins, Fall Fest and Christmas Tree Lighting.
